As most of you know, several bloggers nominated me (and my running mate Mr. Sock Monkey) for President. We were both tickled by the nomination and accepted with glee.
What you don't know, is that Mr. Sock Monkey and I have received TONS of emails asking when we will start our ACROSS THE COUNTRY campaign. We were encouraged by MANY to reach out across this great nation of ours to spread our message. To expose our unique qualities to our fellow Americans. To share our campaign slogan, "A PRADA ON EVERY ARM" with the masses.
Well, Mr. Monkey and I gave it a great deal of thought and decided to take our campaign on the road...on the BLOGGING road that is. We have decided, after much brainstorming, to visit all 50 states via the Blogger World.
Which is where all y'all come in.
Mr. Monkey and I need you, our fellow bloggers, to reach out and "welcome" us into your home state. We need you to email us the link to your blog and let us know what state you represent. And just for shits and giggles, (can I say shits and giggles if I'm "running" for President?) we would love for you to tell us why you would like us to campaign our butts on over to your blog. (ass kissing the candidates is highly recommended!)
If we get more than one invite from a given state (who am I kidding...it'll be a miracle if we get 1 from each state!), we'll put the choices in a hat and pull one out. (how much fairer can we get?) When and if we receive 3 invites from a specific state, I'll call that state "locked" so you know it's covered. I'll continue to list the states that are covered and those that we still need until Mr. Monkey and I concede defeat. Or claim victory! (let's hope for the latter!)
We plan (if we get all 50 states on board) to start our journey very soon. We figure this is a great way for us to "meet" a ton of interesting people (people we hope might consider casting their vote our way) and at the same time, drive blogging traffic your way. Pretty clever, huh?
Of course we recognize that we might have a hell of a time getting invites from all 50 states but we're gonna try anyway. We're friendly and kind and funny (at least we think we are) and promise to make a lasting impression along the way.
As we start our travels on the campaign trail (the blogging trail that is) we will encourage my readers to hop on over and "meet" each blogger we "visit." Mr. Monkey and I will even happily post pics of you (or any pics you might send us) when introducing your blog. We'll even say something fantastic about you on that days entry...cuz of course we will have already checked out your blog and found something uber interesting about you!
As we make our way across this great country of ours, we promise to share details of our campaign platform as well as other interesting (and potentially scandalous) tidbits about us as well. (Mr. Sock Monkey has a quite the questionable past)
So, what do all y'all say? Are you up for hosting the potential NEXT leader and secondary leader of the good ole U.S. of A.? Or maybe I'll just be the next GRAND POOBAH of the BLOGGING NATION. Whatever title I may or may not win is really secondary. "Visiting" and "meeting" a whole bunch of fellow bloggers is primary!!

I just read where the annual Sock Monkey is held in Illinois, so you must have your debute in that state, however, that presents a problem with another Senator from Illinois.
Therefore, we must have the debute elsewhere and have the Sock Monkey Festival committee involved and let them know we are changing history here and relocating to Maine.

On my post you asked for an invitation to Vermont. I'm not sure what that involves but I'm sure you would find Vermont inviting so come on over. :)
This morning, while delivering pork from our farm, I met a wiener outside the chef's door. He was quite convincing in his portrayal of a doberman but his wagging tail gave him away. We also delivered 42 weiners for the restaurant but they were of the hot dog in a bun variety. Perhaps if that little doggy is a very good dog he'll get some - our smoked all natural hot dogs from Sugar Mountain Farm.
Have fun with your presidential campaign. Almost anything you do will be better than the None-Of-The-Above choice we currently have...
